Wedding Bells - Egyptian Wedding

Most communities use wedding bells as a sacred symbol in a wedding thus indicating the presence of Holy Communion. During Celtic Scottish nuptials, people pealed the nuptials bells proclaiming divinity on the marriage of a couple. This ritual was a very important therefore, people performed before the wedding ceremonies; the divinity of a marriage depended on whether people pealed the marriage bells or not.

During Egyptian nuptials, people rang tiny wedding bells when making prayers to Osiris, which they believed sent prayers to this god; the Egyptians believed in praying to Osiris while ringing the marriage ceremony bells, because it brought blessings and good tidings upon the marriage of a couple.

Many Christian churches began using bells in about 400 A.D- Paulinas, who was a bishop in Italy, introduced the bells into the church. The priests used these bells to raise an alarm in times of danger or to summon religious services. In about 604 A.D, Pope Sabinian sanctioned the official use of these bells during marriage ceremonies; the significance of these bells was to bless a newly married couple. These wedding bells were very small but from the eleventh century, the large nuptials bells became common in many Christian nuptials; many churches used the large bells in church towers.

In Europe, a person can find old bells that people of both Irish and Scottish origins used during marriage ceremonies in the ancient times. Over the years, people modified the shapes and sizes of wedding bells thus altering their significance; there are small marriage bells shaped like castles, which people wrap in elegant boxes and then present to the couple getting married. People tie the bells together at the top by use of an organza ribbon; these nuptial bells serve as a reminder to a couple of the vows made and the love shared between them.

Many wedding bells now have crystal designs made on them signifying that marriage is precious and holy. In many marriage ceremonies, people use these marriage ceremony bells as a tool for decoration; the nuptial bells may be either in gold or in silver.

For decoration purposes, people may use wedding bells that are white and have flower decorations around them; white bells signify purity and in most times people use them to indicate that the bride is a virgin.
